There it is! Our new website is now available at https://kitesafe.de – despite a few adversities, we are still almost on schedule and hope that you like the site and that you will find all the information you are looking for with us. If something is missing, please write us a message !
We were actually just looking for a trailer for Denmark. Then suddenly an old Mercedes fire brigade was standing in front of the door. Then ideas were spun and alternatives weighed up, and suddenly we are a fully equipped kite school. How is that possible?
We have already taken up the topic of security in our name and write it on our flag anew every day:
SAFETY – in / on / by the water
Why? You have probably also heard of injuries, accidents, lost equipment or kiters in distress in connection with kitesurfing or seen videos on YouTube & Co. Accordingly, the topic of safety on the beach and on the water is at the top of our priority list – and for this reason we have chosen the International Kiteboarding Organization (short: IKO – www.ikointl.com ) and have through this Association a solid framework geared towards safety in kitesurfing, on which our course and curricula are based – so that our students, renters, beach and bathers can get through the day safely and with fun.
In addition to the requirements of the IKO in terms of material and behavior for students and teachers, we have now picked up our VengaBoat and have already been able to drive the first missions. The Whaly 455R offers a lot of space and thanks to the new keel shape it can also handle waves and wind extremely well – and the first few uses have shown that we are well armed even in more demanding weather.
Furthermore, in addition to 2-way radio (instructor – students), all of our teachers have a mobile phone with them on the water so that they can call for help in an emergency. There are also several first aid kits at the station, the fire brigade, on the beach and in the boat – always in the hope that we won’t need the emergency equipment. For the future, we will again include 1-2-day safety seminars in our training program to cover topics such as self-rescue, correct starting and landing (with and without helpers) and also actual basic topics such as right of way (KVR) because we can observe the most frequent deficits here. Check our blog here regularly – we will announce the seminars there!
Until then we wish you a lot of fun on the water – kite safe!

Today we are writing to you from Taiwan, more precisely from Penghu! While we are busy collecting material for a short spot video, we already have two more pieces of information for you!
Updates:
We have spent a lot of time in the last few weeks with the topic of clothes & merchandise and are super happy that we can offer you our clothes now (and not just at the start of the season)!
Have a look in our new shop over – and please tell us your opinion on what we have put together 😉
It gets crowded in Egypt – so here again the information that we cannot accept any further bookings for our supervised kite trip to Egypt from 07.03.-13.03.2020. From 14.03. we have enough space in the bay again. We will be there until April 21, 2020.
And before we jump into the waves again, we wish you a good start to the day and look forward to your feedback!
Today we have a little How-Not-To-Kitesurf video for you. The crew of Our Kite Life filmed the action on the beach in Cuba for a day. The result is equally frightening and foreseeable: Read more “Why a kite course makes sense”
Short update:
The next first aid course with a focus on water sports will NOT take place on September 14th, 2019, but on September 7th, 2019 – the devil of mistakes has crept in … oh yes, and there are still places available for spontaneous people!
Otherwise it was ugly cool here for the first time today, not only did the thermometer feel almost 20 ° C less (!) Than it indicated last weekend. Unusual, but supposedly this “autumn” should be on its way … let’s wait and see 🙂
2019 is a year full of changes for us: kite school, staff, new travel plans and much more. So we thought:
If we already change a few things, we can also approach the basis and have started a relaunch for Logo & Co. The result was and is a bit more tedious, but no less good: Logo, flyer, banner and textile motifs are ready and we like them very, very much!
Here are the two logos (light & dark) for comparison – we wanted easy printability and a tidier logo. We say: goal achieved – thank you very much 13 ° in Neubrandenburg !
And now the new logo not only adorns our flyer, but is also on the website , banners, flags and posters. How do you like the logo and the relaunch? Come by and see the results live and in color – we look forward to your feedback!
Exactly 9 days ago we flew back to Germany from our kitecamp in Egypt. The last day of kiting was warm to hot, with board shorts or bikini it was definitely warm enough – a nice end to a great camp!
In Düsseldorf we were pleasantly surprised, it wasn’t that cold at all; less than 2 days later in Loissin the situation looked different: thermal pants, hat, heating … and shortly afterwards snow, hail, sleet … hurray, it’s actually exactly like in Egypt … just a little different 🙂
