Egypt travel blog – renovation

As promised, here are a few pictures from our camp. At BOOT in January, we learned that there was a spontaneous “renovation” – almost exactly 3 weeks before our arrival and the first guests …

After this information, our mood was moderately optimistic, even if the end of the construction work was scheduled for the end of February. It never works – we (and the locals) were sure of that. However, we were assured that there is a plan B for exactly this case, namely a “Temporary Kitchen” and catering in the KiteCenter. At least one plan … in fact we don’t have many alternatives either.

In retrospect, the outsourced restaurant was quite charming, if unfamiliar: suddenly the entire day was limited to just one area, namely the beach and the center. In the meantime we are back in the completely renovated, normal restaurant, since most of the construction work has been completed and the usual processes are going their way again. Nice again.

What has been rebuilt:

• Restaurant (enlarged)
• Kitchen (significantly enlarged)
• Buffet room (new dome building)
• Divecenter (new dome, new DiveShade)
• All paths in the DiveCenter / restaurant (widened)
• Chalet (terraces & maintenance)
• KiteCenter (new furniture)

In between, little things are being built unnoticed and there is still a lot of construction work to be done after our departure – including for the KiteCenter. We are and will remain: excited …
